The Outdoors
Being so close to the National Park provides a myriad of opportunities to get out and explore, and like many of the wild places in the world, Denali is more than just the Park, meaning that you don’t have to venture into it’s boundaries to find an adventure.
The National Park
All of our campus’s are within 15 miles of the park entrance (a 10-15 minute drive in Alaska) making it an accessible playground for whoever wants to explore it, and since it’s 6.6 million square acres that means there is a lot to discover. Whether you are hiking, camping or just looking to take some pictures, Denali’s vast wilderness is one of the most unique environments on the planet.
Outside of the Park
Denali is massive, but the expanse around it is equally as accessible to people in the area. Our Zipline and ATV campus are within walking distance of Otto Lake recreation area, as well as the Stampede Corridor trail system. Public lands nearby provide places to hike, camp, paddle, all for free. Life in the mountains means a lot of room to play.
Living in Denali is synonymous with life in the outdoors. For people who are reliant on the types of things you’d find in developed metropolitan settings to stay happy, this may not be the place for you. We have a grocery store, and restaurants, and gas stations, but beyond that the things that bring people to this area is its vast wilderness. It’s the mountains, and the tundra, and the wildlife that will populate the landscape, not big box stores, fast food places, and movie theaters. If you’re like us, you might find a little peace of mind getting away from all that for a little while.
